The Canby Fire Protection District, located in Canby, CA, provides fire protection and emergency response services to the Canby community. The Fire Department's mission is to prevent the loss of life and property. In addition to responding to fires, the Canby Fire Protection District also responds to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, and incidents involving hazardous materials.

Although there are currently no community services available, at this time the CCSD holds powers to provide domestic water, wastewater, recreation, and fire. Modoc County holds the lighting authority for all its community services districts in the county.
Our regular meetings are held bimonthly on the second Wednesday of the even months of the year. They are called to order at 6:10 PM. The meeting location is 22489 "B" Hwy 299, on the north side of the post office building.

Canby has a yearly fireworks event. The fireworks are always held on the fourth of July at the Canby Community Hall at dusk. This a public event offered by the volunteers of the Canby Fire Department and a general community effort to raise the funds for the event. In 2022 a community bbq was held in conjunction with the planned fireworks on the weekend of the fourth with proceeds to benefit the community.
